LAZZURA (1) has an outstanding second-up record and looks set to get the perfect last-crack trail. She was rolled first-up as favourite last prep before bouncing straight into the G1 Coolmore Classic and winning second-up. McDonald stays aboard and she gets every chance again.
DANGERS
SURFIN' BIRD (6) has progressed very well over the last 12 months and her peak rating came last prep. Maps to lead and down on 54kg could give LAZZURA something to chase.
GANGSTA GRANNY (4) improved nicely last start behind Savvy Hallie and can take another step here.
MODELLA (8) returned with a win and remains lightly raced enough to have further improvement to come.
LONGSHOTS
VERONA ROSE (3) tends to be underrated and has a big stretch burst when right. Might be the boilover horse?
VERDICT
LAZZURA (1) gets the right set-up second-up and should enjoy the perfect stalking run, but SURFIN' BIRD could make this interesting if she controls things up front with just 54kg.

GUEST HOUSE (1) is airborne. His San Domenico return was above expectations and quickly put to bed any concerns this Slipper winner wouldn't go on with it as a 3YO. The jump from 1100m to 1400m is the query, but the draw should allow him to settle around midfield with cover and his proven quality can take care of the rest.
DANGERS
WARWOVEN (4) comes through the Run To The Rose and should settle inside the top four from barrier 1. That race has produced five of the past seven Golden Rose winners and his map gives him every chance.
ST GOTTHARD (5) is another major threat from the Run To The Rose. His map is a tad sticky but he looks the big improver from the key lead-up.
UNDER FOCUS (9) was too far back in the Run To The Rose but maps much better from barrier 4. He gets his chance to settle closer and turn the tables.
LONGSHOTS

VERDICT
GUEST HOUSE (1) has the proven G1 quality and maps to get the right run around midfield.

PRIVATE EYE (1) was good in Melbourne before never really looming into the race last time. The old star is certainly capable of winning more races and gets Nash Rawiller aboard from barrier 3.
DANGERS
MAGNATEAR (6) made a lovely step into Group company when solid along the inside here a fortnight ago. Meets SKYHOOK at level weights so needs to improve, but his overall second-up record suggests he can. If he takes that step, he becomes a great each-way chance again.
SKYHOOK (2) has remembered how to win. Draws beautifully and should settle just behind the leaders. Will need to get out though.
PUNCH LANE (7) should roll forward and be right in the firing line. His recent form is solid and the map gives him every opportunity.
LONGSHOTS

VERDICT
PRIVATE EYE (1) gets his chance from a good draw with Rawiller aboard.

DANGERS
MERCY ME (15) has trialled well in good company and showed last prep she is at least a Listed-level mare. Draws ideally to stalk the speed and regular rider Regan Bayliss knows her well.
BANJORA (9) resumes with strong form around him and has to be respected despite drawing a little wider.
FARNICLE (1) draws beautifully in barrier 2 and should settle nice and handy. Has the map to get every chance first-up.

ANNIE'S ROSE (11) looks the value play. She's already a track and distance winner, had excuses last time and gets a lovely map from barrier 3.
