TRACKWALKER INFO

“There’s a corridor in lanes 6,7,8 that should provide slightly firmer footing than the lanes around them”

THE BEATEN FAVOURITE G1 HISTORY

NIC ASHMAN QE TIP

“The late sectionals VIA SISTINA produced in the Ranvet Stakes were indicative of an elite racehorse. She had no right to win that race with the sluggish tempo but simply had class on her rivals. The Ranvet Stakes has provided 3 of the last 5 winners. Because the race this year was barely a test with little fitness benefit to be derived, a hard-fit PRIDE OF JENNI could prove problematic for VIA SISTINA. JENNI has a free-rolling pattern that exposes any horse lacking fitness. VIA SISTINA to win or if that’s too short play the Quinella”

NIC ASHMAN SYDNEY CUP TIP

“The last favourite to win was The Offer in 2014 and he won the Chairmans Hcp in his final lead-up run. The Chairmans is by far the best guide with 15 of the last 30 Sydney Cup winners using the 7-day back-up. For context, the G1 Tancred Stakes run at WFA has provided 7 of the last 30. CIRCLE OF FIRE not only won the Chairmans but he recorded the best last 200m of the race making it near impossible to suggest any of the beaten brigade can turn the tables with the exception of those who will prefer the likely drier ground this week. One horse bringing a different form reference is SELINO, winner of this race two years ago. His run last year in what was probably a better field was commendable and his rating suggest he’ll run to the same mark. Great Longshot at $41. Back them both”
