Here is the predicted track pattern and Longshot for Sunday’s meeting at Sandown Lakeside.
TRACKWALKER INFO
Lanes 1,2 appear inferior and we are expecting the bulk of horses to avoid those areas. Lane 3 is better but Lanes 4+ should provide the best ground. The sweet spot should be Lanes 6 to 12.
KEY STAT
Jumps racing returns to Sandown with Symon Wilde set to figure prominently in the results. When Wilde teams up with jockey Alan Kuru they strike at 30% with a Profit On Turnover of 31% and an A2E of 1.37
A2E is short for Actual To Expected. This measures performance against the market price. Below 1.00 is performing below expectations and above 1.00 is performing above expectations. We use this to establish trends before the market catches up. How does this differ from ROI [return on investment] and POT [profit on turnover]?
This product will capture data for horses that don't win and place. EG Hugh Bowman rides a $101 chance into 4th in a 12-horse field where it was expected to finish last. This wouldn't show up on ROI or POT but A2E would record this as a positive result for Bowman. This information is supplied to us by Puntingform.com.au
NIC ASHMAN TIP Race 5 No.5 COUNT ZERO $26
“Ignore his track form [6:0-01] as they’ve all been flat runs. The key is he backs up here after a commendable performance at Casterton coming off an 8-week gap between runs. He won two starts back off a 9-day back-up. Track should be back into the Soft range for jumps racing by this stage of the day and that’s his preferred surface [13:5-1-1]. Kuru and Wilde are airborne [see above] and Kuru was aboard when this horse won two starts ago on the back-up. SAUNTER BOY is the horse to beat but has 73kg and is $1.50. BLANFORD LAD didn’t jump well last start albeit he could beat these if he does cleanly this time. Happy to back COUNT ZERO each-way at $26.”
