SATURDAY JULY 8

Here is the predicted track pattern and Best Bet for Saturday’s meeting at Caulfield.

TRACKWALKER INFO

Lane 1 is expected to be a penalty. Lane 2 should be ok with Lanes 3+ providing the best ground. The Sweet Spot should be Lanes 3-9. What will likely play a bigger role is the wind. A North/North-Westerly up to 45km/hr could further create some issues for horses on the rail down the side of the course. The "side" is anywhere from the chute starts over 1200m or less. This means in sprint races over 1200m or less, horses that are on the rail will have the wind blowing into them. We are suggesting given the strength of the predicted wind, it will prove advantageous to get cover from this wind. Therefore the biggest advantage on Saturday will be drawing middle - wide in sprint races.

NIC ASHMAN TIP

Race 8 No.1 INGRATIATING $4.40

“High class sprinter that only two starts ago was lining up in the $15mil Everest. He's at his best when fresh with 3 of his 4 victories coming first-up. And 2 of those were over this track and distance. In fact, 4 of his 5 first-up runs have been at Caulfield and 3 of them over 1100m. This is his wheelhouse and we see Godolphin seizing the chance for an easy kill. That might seem like a brash statement given he's $4.80 but he rates clearly on top and his trials have been solid”
