Tip Via The Stats:

6. ANOTHER WIL $10 – 2u

·         Non-favourite; SP $10 or more; Saddlecloth 6; Used Toorak as a lead up race

1. MR BRIGHTSIDE $6 – 1u

·         Non favourite; Barrier 4; Gelding

Nic Ashman Tip:

2. MY OBERON $23

Terrific in the King Charles when beaten less than 1L by Jenni and Ceolwulf. Relishes a fast tempo. Forget past Flemington form as he had no luck in this race two years ago. Flying under the radar and must be considered at $23 especially when Jenni is $5.50 with nothing between them last start.

  • 7 of the last 15 winners have been Favourite

  • 10 of the last 15 winners have had a SP of $9.50 or less

  • 11 of the last 15 winners have won from Barriers 4 – 9

  • 4 of the last 15 winners have been Mares

  • 11 of the last 15 winners have worn Saddlecloths 2 – 7

  • From the last 15 winners, the most popular lead up races include – The Moir Stakes (5) and the The Everest (5).

  • James McDonald is looking to become the Leading Jockey in the history of this race with 4 wins

Tip Via The Stats:

6. SUNSHINE IN PARIS $6 – 2u

·         SP of $9.50 or less; Barrier 9; Saddlecloth 6; Used Everest as lead up race; McDonald on board

1. GIGA KICK $5 – 1u

·         SP of $9.50 or less; Barrier 7; Used Everest as lead up race

Nic Ashman Tip: 1. GIGA KICK $5

Returned to form in The Everest. Has outstanding straight track form – two wins and a 1L defeat at G1 level.

VRC CHAMPION STAKES

2000m – Group 1 – Weight For Age

  • 3 of the last 15 winners have been Favourite

  • 12 of the last 15 winners have had a SP of $8.50 or less

  • 11 of the last 15 winners have won from Barriers 4 – 8

  • 9 of the last 15 winners have been 6YO or older

  • 3 of the last 15 winners have been Mares

Tip Via The Stats:

10. VIA SISTINA $1.60 – 3u

·         Barrier 4; SP less than $8.50; 6YO; Best horse in the country?

Nic Ashman Tip: 10. VIA SISTINA $1.60

Produced the highest rating on TBF database of any horse (including Winx and Black Caviar) when winning Cox Plate by 8L. Hard to imagine she can hold that rating, but she’s got plenty of room to come back to field before she runs second.
