TBF Ratings G1 Champions Sprint

Here are the TBF Ratings for the Group 1 Champions Sprint [1200m] at Flemington on Saturday.

TBF G1 Ratings are based solely on each horse’s ‘Peak This Prep’ [PTP].

We’ve narrowed the race down to runners whose PTP is within 5 lengths of the top-rated performance from any runner this campaign.

BELLA NIPOTINA 96

Bella Nipotina loves The Valley and she loves wet tracks so we’re not expecting her to hold this peak rating from the Manikato Stakes of 96.

ROTHFIRE 92

Grabbed a 92 courtesy of his 1UP win and then had no luck two starts ago before striking a heavy track in the Manikato. His best ratings are on dry tracks. We forecast improvement from the Queenslander.

GIGA KICK 92

Peak run in The Everest and his previous peak was down the straight in the Danehill. No reason he can’t hold it.

NATURE STRIP 91

Every prep in recent times he’s hit 95+ so he’s tracking well below where we know he can get to. Could easily see him running a peak this prep but he needs to.

SUMMARY

· A rating of 93-94 is probably going to win you the race

· Bella Nipotina could rate down 2 lengths off her Manikato win and still beat them

· Nature Strip has to run a peak this prep to win

· Rothfire only has to find 2 lengths onto a dry track and he'll go close
