Here is the predicted track pattern and Bet Bet for Thursday's meeting at Pakenham.
TRACK
Good 4
TRACKWALKER
Plenty of irrigation over the past 24hours has seen the track with some give in lanes 1 & 2 with lanes 3 and beyond marginally better. We expect slightly off fence to be the place for at least the first half of the meeting but as the track dries out we may see more leaders figure prominently in the finish towards the back end of the meeting
BARRIERS
1200m or less – Chute start where wide gates aren’t so disadvantaged.
In fact, when the track is wet the wider gates over sprint trips are favourable as the horses can stay away from the inferior going by going straight
SADLER TOWN
Popular trainer John Sadler loves taking one to Pakenham. Over the past year “Sads” has saddled up 9 winners from 21 runners at a strike rate of 43%. If you backed each of his horses at Pakenham during that time you’d be up +66% on your investment. Sadler’s lone runner at the meeting is South Parade in R3
NIC ASHMAN TIP
RACE 7 NO.4 SEAFIELD ROAD [EACH-WAY] $18/$4.80
“Was $101 in town last start and only beaten 3 lens suggesting he’s starting to find some form this prep. 4 of his 5 career wins are at 1400m, he’s placed 3 from 6 at Pakenham including a victory at the distance and Josh Cartwright knows him well having won on him along with 3 further minor placings”
